I think we can all agree that animals are awesome. Whether we are learning about their unique characteristics or playing with our pets, animals are truly amazing! My dog, Leo, has been a great co-worker throughout our distance learning. He has sat by my side during our Zoom or Teams sessions and watched me create art over the weeks. (In all honestly, he has been great inspiration over the years- check out some of my Leo artwork below.) Even if you don't have a pet-sidekick at home, animals are fun to draw and create. Let's create some awesome animal artwork this week! Animal/Pet Art: Here are some ideas and resources for you to use this week as you create: -Draw or paint an animal/pet from observation. You can observe in person or even use a photograph. -Take photographs of an animal/pet. Try taking photographs from different locations and angles. -Create a sculpture of an animal/pet using legos, recycled materials, or whatever you can find at home. -The Animal Archives in Art Hub for Kids provides a ton of videos on how to draw animals (real and make-believe) -Art Projects for Kids has step-by-step tutorials on how to draw living things. -View artwork from Salt Lake City's Hogle Zoo. Artist Connection:
Take a peak below at some awesome animal artwork! These pieces are all by different artists. I love how all artists see and create animals using their own unique style- that is what makes art so cool!
